After receiving a number of workplace awards in 2025, we wanted to take a moment to highlight what TRULY makes Central One a great place to work: our people!

Behind every product, service and member interaction is a team of employees who care deeply about what they do and who they do it for. They are motivated, passionate, and the reason our credit union continues to grow and thrive.

Meet the People Behind your Credit Union is a new campaign dedicated to spotlighting the individuals who make Central One what it is. Through a series of interviews across departments, we’ll be sharing the stories, experiences, and personalities’ that make our team so special.

We’re proud of our employees, and this campaign is just one small way to recognize the impact they make every day.

We’re kicking off this campaign with someone who is very special to Central One, Angela Hall.

With close to three decades at Central One, Angela holds the longest tenure at our credit union. 🎉💼 That’s nearly 30 years of dedication, knowledge, and care for our members and teammates alike.

Angela’s experience, commitment, and behind-the-scenes impact make her the perfect person to kick off this series.  

Hi Angela, can you introduce yourself, how long you’ve worked at Central One, and what first brought you here?

My name is Angela Hall, and I’m a Mortgage Closing Specialist in the Mortgage Department. I’ve been at Central One for about 26 and a half years. I came here in 1999 looking for a change from my previous job, and it ended up being the right move in more ways than I ever expected. 

What aspects of your personality compliment your role and job duties?

I’m very detail oriented and patient, which really matters in mortgage closings. I like making sure everything is done right and that everyone involved feels comfortable throughout the process. I care about the work and the people, and I think that shows. 

What aspects of your job do you find most fulfilling and why?

I work behind the scenes, so a lot of what I do isn’t always visible, but the end result always makes it worth it. Knowing I’m helping make the mortgage closing process as smooth and stress-free as possible for our members is always so fulfilling. It’s always a group effort, but it never feels routine. 

What work accomplishment are you most proud of? 

Honestly, being part of the Central One mentor program. I’ve been really lucky to work somewhere with such a welcoming, supportive culture. Over the years, I’ve gotten to do a little bit of everything, but the mentor program has always meant the most to me. I started out learning from others, and over time became a mentor myself. Helping people feel comfortable, supported, and truly part of the team has been one of the most meaningful parts of my career. 

If you could travel back in time and talk to yourself on your first day at Central One, what would you be excited to tell yourself?

I’d tell myself that I’m joining a family-oriented place where managers truly have an open door and teamwork is always emphasized. Challenges are inevitable in the mortgage world, but I never have to face them alone here. It’s the kind of environment that makes you proud of where you work and helps you stay happy and fulfilled long-term.
