Overdraft Programs

Share Accounts--Auto-Transfers

How Does It Work?

This service is an automatic transfer from your Share Savings (Regular S1) or MAXI (Money Market - S30) Account to help cover any non-sufficient funds, which occur through your Checking (Share Draft) Account. There is a $2.00 fee per transfer to cover overdrawn checks.

There is a limit of six (6) overdrafts per month. If there are not sufficient funds or you have overdrawn six (6) times, checks will not clear and will be declared as non-sufficient funds in the account. This is not a line of credit but simply a method of electronically transferring funds from your Savings Accounts to cover any overdraft checks.

Personal Access Line (P.A.L.)

Use your Personal Access Line (P.A.L) as overdraft protection on your Central One Checking Account. Once in place and linked to your checking account, your P.A.L. will automatically cover any checks written that overdraw your checking account. You can use the funds whenever you need them for whatever you need.

Courtesy Pay

What is it?
Courtesy Pay is a service that adds a measure of protection to your personal checking account. Courtesy Pay may cover your insufficient funds checks up to your approved limit, for one low fee per covered overdraft transaction. That means instead of returning a check to a merchant because of insufficient funds, the credit union may pay your check, saving you additional charges from the merchant collection companies. It saves you the embarrassment an inadvertent overdrawn check can cause and helps to protect your credit rating.

How does Courtesy Pay work?
Each member has their own personal Courtesy Pay limit, based on their account activity over a period of time. Personal limits are re-evaluated on an annual basis. A $20 fee will be charged to your account for each covered overdraft transaction, as well as any negative balance fees that may apply.

What if I already have Overdraft Protection?
If you have other overdraft protection, such as a line of credit, or automatic transfer from your other accounts, we will continue to use those methods before we use Courtesy Pay.

Do I have to apply for Courtesy Pay?
No. There are no applications to fill out and no additional signatures are needed. As long as you are a member in good standing, which means having an account with us for 180 days, you're at least 18 years of age, you have no more than two 30-day late loan payments or one 60-days late payments in the last 24 months.
