A Message from our President/CEO

 

  

The credit union recently converted to a new core operating system from a company called Open Solutions.  The name of the software platform is TCCUS, The Complete Credit Union Solution.                 

A conversion is by far the most complicated project that any financial institution can go through.  The last time this was completed was 1992, so this type of core software will last for many, many years.       

What makes this process complicated is the sensitivity of the data, the magnitude of the people impacted (over 26,000 members) and the significance of the many technological connections to ensure the operation of this system.  These technological connections include credit card and debit card processing, payroll and direct deposit processing, check and ACH processing, telephone banking (TEL-TALK) and Internet Banking with Bill Payer.  Additionally, the state of today’s easy access to information specifically through electronic means, members can identify issues much quicker.  This puts any financial institution under great scrutiny from the membership to have all the data in good order immediately after conversion.             

Our conversion went relatively smoothly, in comparison to all other conversions completed by this vendor.  However it was not without errors and problems.  The problems resulted in some services being unavailable for short and in some rare cases long periods of time.  This is unacceptable and for that we apologize.  The credit union allocated a massive amount of resources towards this project and numerous other credit unions have complimented Central One FCU for their success in this endeavor.

Once we have all of the new feature functionality that comes with this new core processing system, members will see new products, new services and enhanced efficiencies in member services.           

This process however, will take the remainder of the year to implement all of its capabilities.                    

We hope you’ll be patient and loyal as we work through the many bugs due to the conversion.  Once completed you’ll find the new system will make your experience at Central One FCU the best it has ever been.
